Clatonia Man Arrested on Trespassing & 3rd Degree Assault Charges

On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at approximately 3:23 pm, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a disturbance call at 10006 West Buckeye Road.  As the deputies were enroute to the location, they were updated over the radio by Southeast Communications that the verbal dispute was escalating, and that one subject was using a tractor to ram into vehicles and was trying to run over people at the scene.

Due to the location of the incident, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office was requested to assist, and all deputies arrived at the location within about a minute of each other.

The investigation revealed that 80-year-old Eddy Doman of rural Clatonia was arguing with a neighbor over property access, then he got into a tractor, attempted to block access to the other person’s property, then escalated into ramming the tractor into a forklift being driven by the neighbor and driving toward and nearly running over workers the neighbor had hired.

Mr. Doman was arrested and booked into the Gage County Detention Center and charged with three counts of Third-Degree Assault and Second-Degree Criminal Trespass onto the neighbor’s land.
