Injury Accident

DATE & TIME: 9/18/2023 at 0816 hours                                             

LOCATION: On W. Lilac Rd / Hwy 77 to SW 32^nd Rd                                     

OFFENSE: Injury Accident

On the above listed date and time Gage County Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle injury accident.  Rachael Bauman, 47 years old of rural Beatrice was driving a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee east bound on W. Lilac Rd.  Toby Kotinek, 19 years old of Lawrence, NE was driving a 2008 Chevy Impala west bound on W. Lilac Rd.  The two vehicles meet on the crest of a hill and collided.  Rachael was treated at the scene and released.  Toby was flown to Bryan West via Starcare with non-life-threatening injuries.  Rachael was wearing her seatbelt and airbags deployed.  Toby was not wearing a seatbelt and airbags deployed.  Toby needed to be extricated from the vehicle by Beatrice Fire and Rescue.  Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.  

Agencies involved were Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Rural Fire and Rescue, Gage County Highway Department and Starcare.
