Before becoming a reserve, they must attend several weekends at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center along with on the job training in all areas of law enforcement. The Gage County Reserves assist the Sheriff’s Office in patrol, serving papers, Courthouse security, prisoner transport, and other law enforcement duties. The number of Reserve Deputies is usually between six and ten officers.
The main goal of the Gage County Reserve Deputies is to work with the Sheriff’s Office to provide quality law enforcement for citizens of Gage County. Reserve Deputies are paid $1 per year as set out in State Statute. They can also be paid for special details as approved by the Gage County Sheriff.
