On Tuesday October 29th at approximately 7:00 AM the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, along with assistance from the Beatrice Police Department, executed a search warrant at 1206 N. 7th St. in Beatrice. The search warrant was part of an investigation into methamphetamine distribution. Following entry into the residence, deputies located James Eloge and Catherine Hempfling inside the residence. Eloge was found to have a glass meth pipe in his pants pocket along with $122 in cash. Hempfling was found on a couch with a meth pipe sitting directly in front of her. Residue from both pipes pre-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Deputies located a sword in Eloge’s bedroom that had an approximate 36” blade length, which Eloge is prohibited from possessing due to him being a convicted felon.
Deputies also located 15 suspected Clonazepam pills, 8 suspected Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills, and a small amount of marijuana in the garage. Also located in the garage was an estimated 500-1000 new, unused small zip-lock baggies, commonly used for the packaging of controlled substances. Deputies also located $12,200 in cash that was in a concealed location within Eloge’s vehicle, which was parked inside the garage.
Hempfling was lodged in the Gage County Detention Center for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana less than 1 oz., and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Eloge was lodged in the Gage County Detention Center for three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Money, and Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person.
