Inmate Cited for Criminal Mischief at Gage County Jail

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at approximately 11:32 am, Michael J. Fossler, an inmate at the Gage County Detention Center, became irate and damaged a video visitation system, valued at approximately $2,600.00, in his jail cell.
An investigator from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office reviewed the surveillance video from the jail cell and observed Fossler walk up to the system while nude and punch the system, which caused it to be damaged. Fossler was the only inmate in the cell at the time.
When interviewed later Fossler, now dressed, stated he was mad at the jail for him being in there and that he was worried about his dog.
A criminal citation was issued to Mr. Fossler for criminal mischief. He signed the citation and was released back to his jail cell.
