Two Vehicle Injury Accident

CASE:  2021-3938            

One person injured in a two-vehicle accident at US Hwy 136 & S 134 Road, Thursday morning.

On Thursday, September 23, 2021 at approximately 0740 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Filley Volunteer Fire and Beatrice Rescue were dispatched to a two-vehicle injury accident at the intersection of US Hwy 136 & S 134 Road.

The accident investigation revealed that a northbound 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup driven by Nathen Archer of Filley had stopped at the stop sign at US Highway 136, then proceeded north across Hwy 136 failing to yield to a westbound 2013 Ford Fusion driven by Hannah Cook of Hebron. The front passenger side of Cook’s vehicle struck the rear passenger side of Archer’s vehicle.

Cook sustained cuts and bruises and was treated on scene by Beatrice Rescue, while Archer reported no injuries.

Restraints in use. Airbags in Cook’s vehicle deployed. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor in the accident. 

Citation issued to Archer for Failure to Yield to Right of Way.
