Two Vehicle Accident

DATE & TIME: March 11, 2022 at 1619 hours                         

LOCATION: 18550 Hwy 77                            

OFFENSE: Two Vehicle Accident                               

CASE #: 2022-0942                            

On the above listed date and time Gage County Deputies along with Beatrice Rural and Beatrice Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 77 across from Gage County Equipment.  It was determined during the investigation that 60-year-old Rodney Whitehead of rural Beatrice, driving a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup was attempting to cross Highway 77 and turn south.  Whitehead’s vehicle was struck by a northbound vehicle.  That vehicle, a 2015 Jeep Patriot was driven by 47-year-old Bethany Meints of rural Beatrice.  Whitehead was cited for Failure to Yield right away and released at the scene. 

Seatbelts were in use; Alcohol was not a factor and airbags were deployed in only the Jeep.  Both drivers reported no injuries and refused medical on scene.
