Search Warrant results in Arrest

LOCATION: 718 W. H St.; Wymore, NE                          

OFFENSE: Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a playground; Possession of a Firearm during a Drug Violation; Possession of Drug Money; Possession of a Controlled Substance; No Drug Tax Stamp; and Child Neglect.

On 01/17/17 at approximately 3:48 AM the Gage County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 718 W. H St. in Wymore.  The search warrant was the result of a several month’s long investigation. 

Prior to the execution of the search warrant, Nicholas Troxel, age 33 of Wymore, was known to live at this location and Troxel was in the residence at the time when the search warrant was executed.  During a search of the residence, deputies located approximately 3 lbs. of marijuana, most of which was contained within large heat-sealed plastic baggies, and some of which was packaged in 1 oz. amounts for individual sale.  Deputies also located a digital scale, a box of plastic sandwich baggies, a heat-sealing machine, $6,738 of U.S. currency, a Savage .270 caliber rifle, and 6 jars of suspected hash oil. 

Troxel’s residence is directly across the street from a playground and a daycare.  None of the packages of marijuana contained tax stamps as required by Nebraska state law.  Three children were home at the time that the search warrant was executed and the children had easy access to the marijuana, as approximately 2 lbs. of marijuana were located in a plastic bucket that was sitting on the kitchen floor. 

Nicholas Troxel was arrested for the above-listed charges and additional charges are likely.  The investigation continues.
