Injury Accident at U.S. Hwy 41 West & SW 100th Road, Clatonia

On Tuesday, June 07, 2016, at 0820 hours, Deputies from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, along with Clatonia Fire and Rescue were dispatched to U.S. Hwy 41 West and SW 100^th Road in Clatonia reference a two vehicle personal injury accident.

Roland Baumfalk, 73 of Pickrell, NE. was Westbound on U.S. Hwy 41 driving a 2007 Pontiac Sports Utility vehicle approaching the intersection of SW 100^th Road, when a vehicle pulled into the path of his vehicle causing a collision. Mr. Baumfalk received no injuries. The vehicle’s airbag did deploy and his seatbelt was in use.

Hillman Walter, 73 of Wilber, NE. was Northbound on SW 100^th Road driving a 2007 Ford Taurus Sedan He stopped at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 41, then proceeded to turn left colliding with the other vehicle. Mr. Hillman was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for minor injuries received in the accident. The vehicle’s airbag did deploy and his seatbelt was in use.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are considered to be a factor in the accident. Investigation of the accident is ongoing and a citation is pending.
