Assist Other Agency--S 23 Rd & E Locust Rd.

DETAILS: On 05/03/2024 at approximately 1300 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an Assist Other Agency calls for service, near S. 23 RD and E. Locust RD. Blue Springs Rescue, Beatrice Rescue and Beatrice Rural Fire, were dispatched to a report of an individual being struck by a vehicle.
Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to Robert Seitz, who was driving a semi near his residence. Robert stated his wife, Beverly Seitz 78 years of age of Beatrice, NE, was on a walk near the residence and he was stopping on the roadway to pick her up. Once stopped, Robert stated he did not see Beverly get into the truck. He got out and went around to the passenger side, where Beverly was lying on the ground.
Deputies investigated the scene and spoke to medical personnel and it was discovered that Beverly was not struck by the semi, as there was no evidence of this at the scene. It is possible Beverly experienced an unforeseen medical episode.
Beverly was transported by Star Care from the scene to Bryan West Medical Center. It has been reported by Bryan West staff that Beverly passed away.
This investigation is ongoing.
