On June 13th, 2026 at 0010 hours, Gage County Deputies responded to 204 N 9th St. in Wymore, NE for a reported shots fired call. Reporting party and witnesses advised deputies that their neighbor who lives behind them and across the alley fired a single shot towards their direction while they were sitting outside in their backyard. The reporting party advised deputies that he saw the muzzle flash from the window where the suspect fired the round.

Upon the arrival of the deputies, they were able to make contact with the reporting party and witnesses to make sure they were all okay while getting valuable information on the suspect who shot a round off toward them and the potential of a female occupant inside the house with the suspect.

Deputies set up a perimeter around 204 N 9th St. and were able to make contact with the suspect who was identified as Mark Wilson, age 50, from Wymore, NE. Deputies called Wilson out of the house, detained him, and arrested Wilson without incident.

Upon a protective sweep of the residence, a female was located with no injuries. During the search of the residence, an AR-15 rifle was recovered at the scene along with a spent shell casing, and a bullet hole in the screen of the window that faced the reporting party’s residence.

A Nebraska State Patrol Trooper who was working in Gage County at the time of the incident was requested to assist. The Trooper responded alongside the deputies.

Mark Wilson was arrested for Unlawful Discharge of Firearm, Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, and Terroristic Threats. Wilson was lodged in the Gage County Detention Center.
