OFFENSE: Two Vehicle Injury Accident

On June 17, 2015, at approximately 1430 hours, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office along with Adams Fire and Rescue responded to S 148 Rd and Birch Rd for a two vehicle injury accident.
An investigation made at the scene determined that a 2014 Chevrolet pick-up, driven by Timothy Nelson 52 of Adams, was traveling north on S148 RD near Birch and a Gage County maintenance truck, a 1999 Chevrolet C 35, was traveling south on S148 Rd at Birch driven by Rodney Aden 51 of Beatrice. Mr. Nelson crossed the center line into the southbound lane, striking the county vehicle head-on.
A 4 year old male, who was a passenger in the Nelson vehicle, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The county employees were checked and released at the scene.
Shoulder and lap belt restraints were used and air bags did deploy.
Alcohol was suspected to be a contributing factor,
Mr. Nelson was arrested for Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, Motor Vehicle Operation with a person under the age of sixteen years; prohibited acts, and driving left of center.
