DETAILS:

On August 13, 2026, deputies with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on US Highway 77 involving a 2013 Dodge Charger driven by ISAAC M. BARNES, 24 of Clatonia, and a 2004 Dodge Dakota driven by HEATHER R. HUMMEL, 52, of Pickrell.

Both vehicles were northbound on US Highway 77 when BARNES attempted to avoid a rear-end collision by turning his vehicle, but lost control and struck HUMMELS’s vehicle.

The impact caused HUMMEL’s vehicle to leave the roadway to the right and enter the ditch, where the vehicle rolled. HUMMEL was transported to a medical facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office received assistance from the Beatrice Rural Fire Department on this accident.

The crash remines under investigation by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.
