OFFENSE: Single vehicle injury accident

On 11-30-17 at approximately 2213 hrs, Beatrice Rural Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle injury accident in the area of W Hickory Rd. and SW 89thRoad. The accident was located on W Hickory, between SW 117thand SW 131stRoad. An investigation conducted at the scene indicated that a green 1997 Nissan Maxima, driven by 32 year old Eric Kleine of Beatrice, was traveling eastbound on W Hickory Road when a deer entered the roadway. Mr. Kleine attempted to avoid the deer and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle entered the south ditch, struck the ditch bank and became airborne. The vehicle rolled at least one time and came to rest on its wheesl in and adjacent field.
Mr. Kleine was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital by ground ambulance for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
Vehicle restraints were in use. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor.
