Single Vehicle Accident - Gage County Sheriff

DATE & TIME: Saturday, August 29, 2026, 1703 Hrs.

LOCATION: SW 100 / North of Birch Road

OFFENSE: SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT

DETAILS:

On the aforementioned date and time, Deputies with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single Motor Vehicle Accident on SW 100 RD. Upon arrival Deputies that a 2018 Dodge Promaster 3500 van driven by 39-year-old Yoendryse Acosta had left the roadway to the right, entered the ditch and launched across the creek. The van impacted the North bank and came to rest facing South. Members of the Clatonia Rescue removed Acosta from the vehicle. Acosta was transported via Star Care to Bryan West for further treatment.

Further investigation determined that seatbelts were not in use and air bags deployed.

Speed was the contributing factor in this accident.

Investigation handled by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.
