Shoplifting and Driving Under Suspension

DATE & TIME: 06-22-2022 / 10:52 am

LOCATION: Dollar General Store / Wymore

OFFENSE: Shoplifting and Driving Under Suspension

CASE #: 2022-3064

On Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at approximately 10:52 am a report of shoplifting at the Dollar General Store in Wymore was called in to Southeast Communications.  A Gage County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched, due to no officers from the Wymore Police Department being on duty.  The suspects reportedly left the store immediately after stealing a six pack of Dr. Pepper and some cleaning supplies.  An investigator from the sheriff’s office contacted the Dollar General Store by telephone and obtained a suspect description, what was stolen, and other details.

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator requested that the Beatrice Police Department be notified while the sheriff’s office was en route to the shoplifting report.  A few minutes later the suspect, 21-year-old Kelsie M. Blythe of Beatrice, was spotted driving northbound on 6th Street on the south end of town.  The Beatrice police officer stopped Blythe and contacted the Gage County Sheriff’s Office to inform them of the stop.

The investigator responded to the scene of the traffic stop, identified Blythe, recovered the stolen items, and issued a criminal citation to Kelsie Blythe for shoplifting and driving under suspension.  She signed the citation and was released.

The stolen items, sans two bottles of Dr. Pepper from the six pack, were returned to the Dollar General Store.
