OFFENSE: 3rd Degree Assault / Disturbing the Peace
CASE #: 2025-1600
DETAILS:
On Friday, 04-11-2025, at approximately 7:50 pm, deputies from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Rockford Lake State Recreation area for a disturbance. The dispatchers were advised that a male was being disruptive and was attempting to fight people who were camping out there.
When deputies arrived, they found that 29-year-old Jared J. Donella, who had a driver’s license from Montana, had punched one of the campers and then he was restrained on the ground by the campers until a deputy arrived.
Based on his disruptive behavior, challenging others to fight, yelling disparaging remarks about the female children of the campers, and actually striking two of the campers by punching them, Donella was arrested for 3rd degree assault and disturbing the peace. Mr. Donella then struggled with deputies after being arrested.
Donella was taken to Beatrice Community Hospital for evaluation before being taken to the Gage County Detention Center where he was booked into jail.
