Residential Fire Fatality

LOCATION: 300 Jefferson Street, Clatonia 

OFFENSE: Residential Fire Fatality          

CASE #: 2022-4514              

On 08-29-22 at 10:33 PM Clatonia Fire and Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a house fire on the corner of Jefferson St and N Oak St. in Clatonia with a female inside the residence. The location was later confirmed as being 300 Jefferson Street. Mutual Aid was provided by Cortland Fire and Rescue, Wilber Fire and Rescue and Hallam Fire and Rescue. Also responding was Gage County Emergency Management. Assistance with the investigation was provided by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office.

A female resident was located, deceased, inside the residence. The name of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.

This investigation is ongoing.
