OFFENSE: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol / Driving Under Suspension
CASE #: 2025-1895
DETAILS:
On Monday, 04-28-2025, at approximately 7:45 am, deputies from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched on a reckless driving complaint on Highway 77 north of Wymore and Blue Springs. The witness calling in the suspect vehicle, a black Jeep, and stated the suspect was swerving, going off the road, tailgating other vehicles and speeding at times up to 100 miles per hour.
A deputy located the vehicle and driver, 23-year-old Daisy Sheldon of Bellevue, Nebraska, at the Casey’s in Wymore. An investigation at the scene indicated the driver was impaired and the School Resource Deputy, who was at Southern High School in Wymore, responded to assist.
Ms. Sheldon was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and taken to the Gage County Detention Center in Beatrice where a DUI breath test was administered and she registered as being well over the double the limit of .08. She was booked into jail on DUI and driving under suspension.
Fortunately, no one was injured, despite oncoming vehicles having to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid a collision on the highway and in Wymore.
