LOCATION: Blue Springs, Nebraska
OFFENSE: Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person (Felon in Possession of a Firearm)
CASE #: 2017-6331
A deputy with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office arrested William T. Klee, 53 years old, of Blue Springs at his residence in Blue Springs on a felony warrant. An investigator with the Gage County Sheriff’s Office notified the deputy of the arrest warrant and advised the deputy Klee would probably be home on Sunday, since he is a truck driver with an out of state trucking company. The investigator was familiar with Klee’s quotidian habits, employment, and work schedule because Klee is a registered sex offender, which is based on a conviction in California for an offense against a 12 year old female.
The warrant had been sought by investigators from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office after the firearms were seized at his residence during a county wide sex offender compliance check in August. After confirming his conviction in California was a felony, a Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigator requested an arrest warrant be issued for possession of a dangerous weapon by a prohibited person, commonly referred to as possession of a firearm by a felon.
The uniformed deputy affecting the arrest on Klee took him into custody at his residence without incident and transported him to the Gage County Detention Center.
