DETAILS:
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an injury accident on Highway 41 / South 12thRoad on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 at approximately 4:45 pm.
The investigation revealed that a blue, 2005 Ford Econoline Van, driven by 39-year-old Victor Manuel Segura-Gutierrez from Kansas had swerved off Highway 41 and Segura-Gutierrez had been ejected from the vehicle.
Rescue units were called to the scene and Segura-Gutierrez was taken to Bryan West Hospital for his injuries.
At the time of the accident, the weather had started to change with a light mist on the highway. Alcohol is not considered a factor, although it is suspected Segura-Gutierrez was traveling too fast for the road/weather conditions. Due to his ejection from the vehicle, it is suspected he was not wearing his seatbelt.

The investigation is active.
