DETAILS:
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to 205 Garfield St. in Odell, NE on 06/05/2024 at 1845hrs in reference to a home accident. The investigation revealed that John Novotny, 75-year-old, from Odell, NE was working on his house and was standing in the front-end bucket of a tractor while working on his residence. Novotny attempted to lower the bucket and proceeded to slip and while Novotny slipped, he fell out of the bucket and accidently put the tractor into gear. Novotny was then ran over by the tractor. Odell Fire and Rescue along with Beatrice Fire and Rescue arrived on scene to attend to Novotny’s injuries. Starcare Life Flight Helicopter was called to Odell to transfer Novotny to the hospital for his injuries.
