CASE #: 2019-5187

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of individuals driving vehicles on E. Maple Road just east of S. 10th RD. This area of E. Maple Road is a dirt road and on this day the area received a large amount of rain causing the roadway to be muddy.

When Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, they observed three vehicles stuck in the mud. All three drivers were contacted, and it was found that one vehicle was stuck, and the other vehicles were attempting to pull the vehicle out. This caused the other vehicles to become stuck also.

These actions caused the roadway to be severely damaged. No driver could provide an explanation as to why they would travel this roadway while knowing the condition of the roadway not being suitable to travel upon.
