Gage County Sheriff’s Office deputies were conducting selective traffic enforcement on Highway 4 near the Homestead National Monument Education Center the morning of Monday, 04-15-2019. Forty-six-year-old Derek Michael Bollin of Lewiston, Nebraska was the driver of one of the vehicles stopped for a traffic infraction and was arrested on four felony warrants out of Clark County, Missouri, including one warrant for distribution of a controlled substance near schools. The warrants are for offenses which occurred in the northeast part of Missouri, where Clark County is located.
Bollin was arrested by deputies at the scene and taken to the jail to be booked as a fugitive from justice and to await extradition by law enforcement authorities in Missouri. A suspicious liquid substance, contained in a plastic bottle, was located inside a sweat sock in Bollin’s jacket pocket. It was seized and brought to the sheriff’s office for possible further testing at the Nebraska State Patrol Crime Lab.
