OFFENSE: Driving Under the Influence Arrest / Property Damage Accident

On Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at approximately 6:45 am the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the intersection of West “E” Street and South 14thStreet (Highway 77) in Wymore for a motor vehicle accident. A pickup truck had struck a stop sign, a light pole, and a curb.
When deputies arrived to investigate, the driver of the 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, 44-year-old Rodney Burr of Wymore, was being treated by paramedics from Wymore Emergency Medical Services.
After an investigation at the scene, the investigating deputy arrested Rodney Burr for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) and he was taken to the Gage County Detention Center and booked into jail for DUI.
Burr reported no injuries from the accident and was treated by paramedics and released at the scene. Seatbelt use is unknown. Speed is not considered to be a factor in the accident; however, alcohol use is considered to be a contributing factor in the accident.
