A resident living between DeWitt, Nebraska and Hoag, Nebraska in western Gage County came to the sheriff’s office on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 to report trespassing on his rural property and damage to his field road that had occurred the morning of Monday, June 13, 2022. A male had driven past “No Trespassing” signs, damaging the field road, and was observed by the landowner.
Sheriff Gustafson took the report from the citizen at the sheriff’s office, then responded to the area, locating the suspect vehicle near Oak Aven Campground.
Deputy Behrens and Sergeant Hanson also responded to the area to assist the Sheriff. The suspect, 40-year-old Brent Ackerman of Canton, Texas, was issued a citation for 2ndDegree Criminal Trespass and released.
