DETAILS:          

A resident of Clatonia informed an investigator from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office that an unknown female suspect had presented a fraudulent check from his business account to a Wal-Mart in Omaha, Nebraska.  The check was not cashed, due to Wal-Mart’s check cashing procedures.

Although he did not lose any money, a suspect had used his information in an attempt to obtain something of value (in Omaha) and committed the offense of Criminal Impersonation, commonly called “Identity Theft”.

The Wal-Mart in Omaha will contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office or Omaha Police Department to pursue fraud charges.
