A resident of rural Clatonia contacted the Gage County Sheriff’s Office to report an unknown person or persons had made three attempts to use his credit card online, and was successful once for an amount of approximately $2,300.00.

The credit card company will credit the victim on the account and will not charge him for the unauthorized use. Since the Clatonia resident has had his account cleared, the credit card company or the business the card was charged to becomes the victim.

The case information was turned over to those agencies.
