Aircraft Incident

On Monday, 06-24-2024, at approximately 6:35 am, the Gage County Sheriff's Office was notified by Southeast Communications of an aircraft that had made a forced landing in a bean field, approximately a mile north of Beatrice Community Hospital.

Gage County deputies and investigators responded to the scene along with fire and rescue personnel. The pilot was able to walk away from the landing.

The aircraft was en route from Seward, Nebraska to Arkansas when the plane started having mechanical problems, resulting in the pilot landing in the bean field, about two miles from the Beatrice airport.

There were no passengers in the aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified and will be conducting their own investigation.
