Accident with Injuries (Occupant Restraint System Not Utilized)

On Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at approximately 8:49 pm, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to SW 89th Road and West Scott Road for a single vehicle roll-over accident with injuries.

Wyatt Blythe of Beatrice, Nebraska was driving a 2006 Black Mitsubishi Eclipse GS sedan. This vehicle left the roadway and collided with the ditch on the north side of the roadway. The vehicle then became airborne and entered the cornfield after breaking through a barbed wire fence. The vehicle impacted the ground where it began to flip approximately 2 times before coming to a final resting position on the roof of the vehicle.

Beatrice Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Rural Fire responded and transported the driver to Beatrice Community Hospital for suspected serious injuries. A juvenile passenger was treated for minor injuries on scene and was released to family members who responded to the scene.

Both the driver and passenger were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident. A citation was issued to the driver for this violation.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in this accident.
