OFFENSE: Two vehicle injury accident

DETAILS: On 10/09/2025 at approximately 4:30 P.M., the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a two-vehicle injury accident at US HWY 77 and W. HWY 41. When deputies arrived, they observed two damaged vehicles and two individuals being medically treated on scene. The accident investigation found that Linda Baehr, 70 years of age of Adams, NE, was driving a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder and stopped at a stop sign on W. HWY 41. Baehr pulled onto US HWY 77 and failed to observe a westbound 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Rebecca Behrends, 69 years of age of Wymore, NE and collided with the vehicle. Both Baehr and Behrends were transported by medical personnel to Bryan West for further medical attention. None of the injuries were life threatening. No alcohol or drugs were a factor. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Those on scene were Beatrice Fire and Rescue, Cortland Fire and Rescue and Clatonia Fire and Rescue.
This investigation is ongoing as possible citations may be issued.
