LOCATION: State Hwy 4 and SW 45^th Road OFFENSE: Accident/Fatality – Hit & Run CASE#: 2025-3712

DETAILS:

On August 9^th, 2025, at 0115 hours, deputies were dispatched to a pedestrian that was struck by a motor vehicle on State HWY 4 near SW 45^th Road. A preliminary accident investigation revealed that a male identified as Trevor Garton, 31 years of age, from Beatrice, NE was walking down HWY 4 near SW 45^th Road when a vehicle struck Mr. Garton. The driver fled the scene without reporting the accident or rendering aid to Mr. Garton. Mr. Garton was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Beatrice Fire & Rescue arrived on scene to render medical aid to Mr. Garton. The Nebraska State Patrol was called to the scene to reconstruct the accident.

A criminal accident investigation is on-going regarding motor vehicle homicide. The Gage County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public to come forth with any knowledge of this accident
