The Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Beatrice Community Hospital on Sunday, 01-29-2017 at 1:56 p.m. to investigate a female in the emergency room who was there for injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident on Southwest 61stRoad, south of West Pine Road.
The deputy investigating the accident determined that Tammy L. Ross, 43 years of age, of Odell, Nebraska, had been driving a 2009 Toyota Camry southbound on Southwest 61stRoad near West Pine Road. Ross stated her steering wheel locked up while driving southbound on Southwest 61stRoad, drove off the roadway to the right, and struck the ditch on the west side of Southwest 61stRoad.
Ross stated the vehicle was removed from the ditch by friends and driven away from the scene of the accident by another driver. Law Enforcement was not notified of the accident for about 2 ½ hours after the accident when Ross was in the emergency room for treatment.
Alcohol use is not suspected in the accident and the driver was wearing her lap and shoulder belt.
