On 12-01-22 at approximately 2001 Hrs. Beatrice Rural Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to W Hickory Rd., west of SW 61stRd., for a single vehicle accident with injuries.
An investigation conducted at the scene indicated that a black 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 27-year-old Alexandra Myers of Rural Plymouth and occupied by her six-year-old daughter, was traveling westbound on W Hickory when a deer entered the vehicle’s lane of travel. The vehicle struck the deer, causing damage to the vehicle and causing the airbags to deploy. Ms. Meyers and her daughter were treated at the scene for minor injuries. They were later transported by private vehicle to Beatrice Community Hospital for additional evaluations.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor. Occupant restraints were in use.
