On Friday, 07-24-2026, a resident, his wife, and their 20-year-old son each received phone calls from 402-364-9763, and a recorded message told them that an Angela Lopez from “Gage County OSC” was calling and they were supposed to call back regarding “Evasion of Service”.
None of the victims called the suspect back as they were immediately suspicious of this type of call. They also checked with the Gage County courts about the case number of 2026-402545 the suspect had referenced and were told the call was a scam.
The victims did not lose any money or provide any information to the suspect/s and have not noticed any suspicious activity on their banking accounts or credit cards.
If you receive any type of phone call you think might be a scam, do not immediately provide any information or money to the suspects. Call Southeast Communication at 402-223-4080 and ask to speak with a deputy or a police officer regarding the situation.
