DETAILS:

In the afternoon of 10-31-2025, a corrections officer at the Gage County Detention Center reported to investigators at the sheriff’s office that an inmate, 37-year-old Scott Brown, had become disruptive in the jail and spat on him while he was being restrained and committed an assault by his reckless conduct when the officer’s foot was injured by a heavy metal chair crashing on top of his foot.

An investigator from the sheriff’s office reviewed the video, reports, and statements during this investigation and on Thursday, November 13, 2025, arrested Brown for Assault With Bodily Fluid on a Public Safety Officer (the corrections officer) and Third Degree Assault on the corrections officer.

Brown was given a criminal citation for these acts and an initial court date in December 2025 for his arraignment.
