LOCATION: Hwy 77 and 6th St Cortland NE

OFFENSE: Two Vehicle Rollover Accident

CASE #: 2025-5116

DETAILS: On the above date and time Gage County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle rollover accident. During the investigation it was determined that a 16-year-old male of Cortland was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Touareg when he did not stop at the stop sign on 6th St and yield to oncoming traffic and entered the intersection. The other vehicle was a 2005 GMC Yukon driven by a Dylan Bowland of Auburn. Dylan was southbound on Hwy 77 and appeared to take evasive maneuvers to avoid the collision but was struck, causing the vehicle to spin and then roll over several times. Dylan was ejected from his vehicle during the rollover. Dylan reported that he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and was driving in excess of the speed limit. Alcohol is not a suspected factor. Dylan was transported by EMS to Bryan West Hospital, the other driver appeared to have no injuries reported at this time. The 16-year-old male was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way NE Statute 60-6,146 and Stop Sign Violation NE Statute 60- 6,148.

Cortland and Clatonia Rescue were on the scene providing medical care to the injured parties.

Nebraska State Patrol were also on scene providing assistance with traffic control.
