2 Vehicle Accident with Injuries

On Friday, August 12^th, 2022, at approximately 7:55 pm, there was a report made to Southeast Communications Center Dispatch of a multi-vehicle accident with injuries. The Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Wymore Emergency Medical Service, Blue Springs Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Fire and Rescue as well as Star Care personnel responded to the scene of the accident.

It was determined that Ronnie Rainey (56-year-old male) and William Rainey (33-year-old male) both residents of Blue Springs, NE were operating their motorcycles on Broad Street in Blue Springs. Ronnie was travelling westbound ahead of William when Ronnie attempted to stop. Instantaneously, William’s attempted to slow down when his motorcycle hit a patch of loose gravel causing him to fall to the left side. The motorcycle operated by William then slid into the back of the motorcycle operated by Ronnie causing him to fall as well.

Both individuals received initial on-scene medical attention. William was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital for further care. Additionally, Ronnie was transported to Bryan Medical Center-West Campus by StarCare due to suspected serious neck and back injuries.

The investigation is on-going by deputies of the Gage County Sheriff’s Office. Furthermore, neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in this accident.
