Train versus Vehicle / Fatality Accident

On Monday, 10-31-2022, at approximately 4:04 pm the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a train versus motor vehicle accident at the railroad crossing on South 176^th Road, just north of East Birch Road, approximately 1 mile east of Adams, Nebraska.

The driver of the 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck, 80-year-old Ronald Niles of Adams, was killed upon impact with the eastbound train.

The Nebraska State Patrol will be conducting the accident investigation and reconstruction.

Neither speed or alcohol are considered to be factors in the accident.
