Injury Accident

DATE & TIME:  04-15-22 at 2302 Hrs.     

LOCATION: SW 61^st and W Pine Rd.  

OFFENSE:  Injury Accident

On 04-15-22 at 2302 Hrs. Odell Fire and Rescue, Beatrice Rescue and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident on SW 61^st Rd., near W Pine Rd.

The reporting party indicated that they could see a person attempting to get out of the vehicle.

Odell rescue was able to extract the driver/only occupant from the vehicle.

An investigation conducted at the scene indicated that a gray 2014 RAM pickup truck, driven by 64 year old Michael Renz of Odell, was traveling southbound on SW 61^st Rd. when the vehicle entered the west ditch. The vehicle continued in the ditch until it neared W Pine Rd., where the driver attempted to drive the vehicle back onto the roadway. The driver over corrected and the vehicle skidded across SW 61^st Rd. and entered the east ditch. The vehicle impacted the slope of the ditch, causing it to flip. The vehicle came to rest on its side in an adjacent pasture.

Mr. Renz was transported by ground ambulance to Beatrice Community Hospital for what appeared to be minor injuries.

Vehicle restraints were not in use. There was airbag deployment.
